Datuk Haji Ab Hamid bin Mohamad Hanipah
Director of Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd

Datuk Haji Ab Hamid bin Mohamad Hanipah began his career as a government security officer in the year 1978 and left the civil service as Deputy Director General of Chief Government Security Office (CGSO), Prime Minister’s Department in April 2014.

 

While in service, he attended Senior Special Branch Officers Programme in Special Branch School, Kuala Lumpur in 1978. Then in 1985, he attended the Senior Security Intelligence Officers Course and Government Security Course in Defence College of London.

 

He then enrolled in Management of Training Programme and Civil Service Reform Programme in 1992 and 1995 at Royal Institute of Public Administration (RIPA), London. He also participated in various programmes related to protective security and management.

 

He has contributed vastly in the development of Information Communication Technology (ICT) Security Policy which encompasses training, directives of ICT Security and formulating manual Malaysian Public Sector Management of Information and Communication Technology Handbook (MyMis). He headed the team for formulating security directives and manuals during the shifting of federal administrative centre from Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya.

 

He is a Director of Safe Shield Security Sdn Bhd. He does not hold any directorship in other public companies and listed companies.

Dato’ Mohd Habib bin Jamaldin
Director of Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd

Dato’ Mohd Habib bin Jamaldin graduated from University Science Malaysia with Bachelor of Applied Science (Majoring in Electronics), later he continued his studies in United Kingdom to obtain a higher National Diploma in Printing from Watford College.

 

He started his career as an Assistant Director (Printing) in Government Printer (Jabatan Percetakan Negara now known as Percetakan National Malaysia Berhad) in 1983, moving his way up to Managing Director before his retirement in January 2010.

 

A valuable experience in printing Government Security and general documents, a good knowledge of government procedures and policies over a period of 27 years and experiencing a technological change from traditional offset printing to current digital printing while managing a work force of about 1,000 employees with various location in Malaysia.

Chandrash A/L Jitendrakumar Babulal
Chief Operating Officer - Datasonic Innovation Sdn Bhd

Mr. Chandrash, a degree holder in Accounting with Honours from Queen’s University of Belfast, United Kingdom was employed in the accounting segment for about 2 years, before stepping into the IT Solution Consulting space till to-date.

 

Over the years, Mr. Chandrash has been involved in application consulting roles, project delivery and solution sales (pre-sales consulting) responsibilities. He has professional working experience of more than 15 years and has the unique ability to manage and operate multiple projects and navigate complex business and operation challenges.

 

He has been advisory consultant to many customers in information technology segment and he is a team player that works well with the business development.

Chia Kok Khuang
Head of Chip Operating System and Application Department

Mr Chia Kok Khuang joined the group since 1 May 2010.

 

He graduated from TAR College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell University, North Carolina.

 

He was working as an engineer working on PCB board design, embedded system design, firmware development, FPGA design, SOC (System On Chip) design and software development before he joined Datasonic group as a technical manager.

 

He is responsible for the technical exploration, application design & development, R&D activities and personnel growth, evaluation and resource coordination of R&D department. He is currently the head of COS and application department.

Chuah Ban Cheng
Director of Datasonic Corporation Sdn Bhd

Mr. Chuah Ban Cheng joined Datasonic as Director of the International and Domestic Sales Division. He graduated from University of Malaya in 1991 with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.

 

He has 24 years working experience in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) industry specialising in semiconductors and smart card technology. His career has spanned a wide portfolio of positions ranging from technical, commercial, marketing, business development, business planning, business evaluation and acquisition, corporate planning, international to senior management.

 

With his extensive experience in project management, strategic sales engagement, contract negotiation and the global ICT and smart card market, he has been instrumental in assisting the company to establish itself as an international leader in the field.

 

His responsibilities include overseeing the business operations and development of new business as well as increasing coverage of products and services throughout Malaysia, as well as to develop specialist products and services worldwide through organic growth as well as strategic acquisitions in order to penetrate new markets globally.

Chuah Huei Jiun
Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Chuah Huei Jiun serves as Chief Financial Officer of Datasonic Group Bhd since April 30, 2013. She is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Ms. Chuah Huei Jiun started her career in 2001 with public accounting firms. She has experiences in statutory audits of public listed companies and private limited companies in various industries, financial due diligence on an acquisition exercise, bonds issuances, as well as corporate exercises for a Main Market listed company and reverse take-over of a ACE Market listed company. She was a manager when she left public accounting firm and joined the Company in 2011 as an Assistant Financial Controller.

Danny Chew Chi Hong
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Danny Chew is our Chief Operating Officer. He graduated from University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Marketing. He began his career as a marketing officer with Shinko Electronic (M) Sdn Bhd in 2000 and gradually moved into a marketing career when he joined INS Enterprise Sdn Bhd in 2002 as the Assistant to the Marketing Director. He was later promoted to the position of Corporate Officer within the Corporate/CEO office in 2004. He was then promoted to Marketing Personal Assistant to the CEO in the same year. He joined Datasonic Corporation in 2006 as a Senior Manager in Corporate Planning and Strategic Development before assuming the position of Chief Operating Officer in 2007. He is responsible for overseeing our Group’s strategic planning, corporate exercises and overall operations.

Hashim bin Abu
Head of Engineering, Innovation and Quality Division

Encik Hashim joined Datasonic Group in 2010 as Head of Engineering, Innovation and Quality Division.

 

He started career after graduated from Saitama University, Japan as Process Engineer in Motorola Malaysia Sdn Bhd. He grew his career in Motorola to become key engineering personnel to the corporations and appointed to Technical Ladder Society Asia Pacific as Senior Technical Staff Engineer. He was appointed as MCOE (Manufacturing Center Of Excellence) leader for Asia Pacific region for front end semiconductor processes. He received numerous Technical Excellent Award, and Silver Quill Award for his technical contributions.

 

He was then accepted the challenge to lead engineering team to develop and grow a new semiconductor company, AIC Semiconductor Sdn Bhd. He lead the team and successfully develop complete manufacturing lines for low end and hi-end semiconductor packaging inclusive of multi-chip module in ball grid array, land grid array and staggered chip packages.

 

After 2 years in AIC Semiconductor as Senior Engineering Manager, he was invited to lead the business operations on MIMOS Semiconductor, a semiconductor division of MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia’s Primier R&D Agency. Here, with 2 others, he founded Malaysia Microelectronic Solutions in 2000 as subsidiary of Mimos Berhad. In Malaysia Microelectronic Solutions (My-MS), he led engineering team to design and develop semiconductor integrated circuits for smart card industry. Many products has been developed and more than 80 million smart card chips produced by My-MS has been used worldwide in the France, Belgium, UK, India, Thailand, Egypt, Iran, Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

 

His expertise in process engineering has led to change the industry by introducing new processes and materials hence make lead free soldering and copper wire bonding possible for semiconductor industry.

Khairul Fadzly Shamsudin
Project Manager - Datasonic Smart Solutions Sdn Bhd

Encik Khairul Fadzly Shamsudin, is a Project Manager of Datasonic Smart Solutions Sdn Bhd. Encik Khairul has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the University Technology of Malaysia.

 

Encik Khairul joined Datasonic in 2011 and has vast experience in assisting and advising companies in various government projects. He works closely with the government authorities and particularly, he assumes a Project Manager’s roles and responsibilities for the realisation of Malaysia Immigration Department (JIM)’s projects.

 

Prior to joining Datasonic, Encik Khairul was with Tricubes Berhad, a Malaysian-based IT company involved in design, development, and marketing of information technology solutions to the government and private sectors. With his last position as an Assistant Project Manager, Khairul has experience in looking after major accounts such as PDRM, JPN and JPJ for government and for private sector Maybank and CIMB.

Nor Hayati binti Mohd. Sidik
Projects Advisor - Corporate Management Office

Puan Nor Hayati graduated from Purdue University at Indianapolis, Indiana, USA with Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1991. She is a member of Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as well as Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM).

 

She has 22 years technical and management experiences in construction, telecommunication and mission critical industries. Her career started as Electrical Engineer for construction company Kejuruteraan Bintai Kindenko and later moved to Binariang Sdn Bhd (now known as Maxis Communication Bhd) which saw her involved in GSM and Technical Office Centers Roll Out nationwide. In Maxis, she led the Facility Engineering and was part of the Technical Due Diligence Team during MAXIS-TIMECell merger acquisition as well as involved during Maxis-NatrindoTelepon Seluler Technical Due Diligence and roll out planning in Indonesia. Her last post was General Manager for Sapura Secured Technologies where her involvement was in providing mission critical solutions to Government of Malaysia.

Norreen binti Mohd Salim
Chief Internal Auditor

Puan Norreen is our Chief Internal Auditor. She graduated from University Utara Malaysia in 2006 with Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons). She is a member of The Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia and Malaysian Institute of Accountants. She has more than 8 years of experience in process review and internal audit. She started her career in Ernst & Young under Risk-Advisory unit up to the Manager Level and throughout the employment she has served many clients in various industries. The experience gained include process review and internal audit, enterprise risk management, investigative audit, quality assurance review of internal audit function, review and development of policies and procedures, financial control framework roll-out, due diligence review and Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance review. She joined Datasonic as the Chief Internal Auditor in November 2012 and her primary responsibilities include to assist the Management to establish and maintain the best possible internal control environment, by performing independent appraisal on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management and governance process of divisions / departments established within the Group to ensure the Group’s assets are protected, detect areas of operational inefficiencies, internal control weaknesses and non-compliance with applicable regulations and Group’s policies and procedures.

Niu Chew Wei
Company Secretary

Mr. Niu Chew Wei was appointed Company Secretary of Datasonic Group on 13 June 2013. He is an Associate member of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

 

He oversees the corporate secretarial function in the Group and also acts as Secretary to various Board Committees. Prior to joining the Group, he was attached with various public listed companies.

Shaikh Harun bin Mustafa
Chief Executive Officer - Datasonic Innovation Sdn Bhd

Encik Shaikh Harun Mustafa holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) Degree with honours from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom and was called to the Malaysian Bar in February 1995. Upon completion of his chambering period, he joined Indah Water Konsortium Bhd as a legal officer before having his own legal practice.

 

Today he works closely with the Government and strategic sectors.

 

His interest in matter relating to technology began whilst still in university, which he has enhanced through the years and has matured to where it is today.

Siti Rohana binti Abd. Majid
Director of Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd and Datasonic Smart Solutions Sdn Bhd

Siti Rohana joined Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd as the Head of Telecommunications and subsequently promoted as a Director of Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd on 17 September 2009. She graduated from the University of South Florida, USA in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Electrical Engineering.

 

She began her career in 1980 with Telekom Malaysia Berhad after obtaining a Diploma in Electrical Electronics Engineering from UiTM. She worked for Telekom Malaysia for more than 20 years. During her tenure with Telekom Malaysia Berhad, some of her jobs responsibility covered planning and implementation of local access network, planning and project implementation of radio transmission and multiplexes, technical planning, project implementation and marketing of Mobile services in Sabah. She was also the Head of Marketing, SUKOM 1998 Project for Telekom Malaysia dealing with the Local and International Broadcasters and News Media for their telecommunications need from Mobile Satellite to simple telephones. For 6 years she was in Telco Strategy, as the Assistant General Manager for Business Strategy Analysis and Development, Head of Competitor Management, Head of Regulatory Management and her last post was General Manager of Contact Centre Management in 2004.

 

From 2005 to 2008, she ran her own business in training and general trading through Rizqin As`Sidiq Sdn Bhd.

 

Her current responsibilities include overseeing the business management, project management and operations of Next Generation Network (NGN) project and Broadband over Power Line (BPL) project. NGN project is for Telekom Malaysia as a Local Partner which includes hardware and software installation, testing, commissioning and customer migration to NGN platform. BPL project is to provide a cheaper and faster broadband access to rakyat in line with the Government’s National Broadband Plan.

Steven Ng Shih Shing
Director - Datasonic Manufacturing Sdn Bhd

Mr. Steven Ng graduated from University of Malaya with BSc. (Hons) in 1992 and later he further with MBA from University of Dubuque Iowa, USA in 1996.

 

A soft-matter yet strong-minded engineer is one of Malaysia foremost experts in his field and has contributed to the understanding of electronic document security, RFID smart label solution and its potential usage.

 

Being exposed to the engineering line for years, he is not only technically capable to lead projects, but also has the ability to bring diverse groups on board – junior reps and heavy-hitters, supply-chain managers and corporate heads, field staff and executives alike.

 

In 1997, he ventures into security IT Industrial and later jointly developed the first electronic passport for Malaysia Immigration Department. Another successful achievement, which made all Malaysian proud would be his contribution to develop the first Multipurpose National Identity Card, namely MyKad, a chip based smart card for the National Registration Department.

 

He act as technical expertise for upgrading Malaysia 2nd generation MyKad new structure with integrated both latest personalisation technology on laser engraving and reverse transfer into single card since 2009 and to collaborate with foreign expertise from German, USA, Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, China to spear head the development, production and implementation including Malaysia new Polycarbonate Datapage on ICAO e-passport.

Teng Boon Hou @ Andrew Teng
Director - Datasonic Smart Solutions Sdn Bhd

Mr. Andrew Teng joins Dibena Smart ID Sdn Bhd (“Dibena”) and Datasonic Smart Solutions Sdn Bhd (“Datasonic”) as a Company Director in 2006 and 2011 respectively. With over 18 years’ experience in systems architecture design and development, he has led Datasonic’s R&D team in the in-house development of Hospital Information Systems (“HIS”). Since 2007, the R&D effort was spearheaded by a series of business trips to Hangzhou, China and Seoul, South Korea. The on-going R&D has led to a home-grown development known as allCARE EMR Suite, which comprises mainly of mobile solutions developed and tailored to our local hospital workflows and requirements.

 

Since 1999 to 2005, he was the Managing Director of ST Base (M) Sdn Bhd, a company principally involved in the development of various customized banking solutions (namely imaging solutions for Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Hong Leong Assurance, BSN, UOB, HSBC) and customized Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions for manufacturers. The said ERP solution was featured in the “Malaysia Progress 2004-2005” publication and the “Computimes” segment of the New Straits Times in May 2005.

 

Mr. Andrew started his career in 1996 as a Programmer and was subsequently promoted to become the Project Manager in 1998 as he gained his technical knowledge and working experience. He takes pride in the successful development and implementation of the various systems for TNB offices throughout Malaysia, namely the Human Resource Management System, Asset Management System, Staff Appraisal System, and Fault Reporting System.
